Modbury Preschool                 

We have strong links with Modbury Pre-school (www.modbury-preschool.org.uk ), which is set within the grounds of Modbury Primary School and caters for two to five years olds.

We have a strong transition programme for children graduating to the reception and the children play on our grounds and attend our events. This all helps the children familiarise themselves with the primary before they start.

The preschool is open 5 days a week, Monday – Friday, 9am – 3.30pm. The children have access to an excellently resourced garden and the primary school’s playground - with ride on trikes, bikes and scooters. Indoors the furniture is specifically designed for their age group, with role play zones, library, seating area, arts and craft areas etc. Most learning is child-led and when appropriate very small groups children get involved in adult-led activities which aim to bring your child on to her next steps. We also currently offer a weekly schedule which includes visiting providers of Spanish and Diddi dance (for a small fee) on set days.

School’s Out @ Modbury (www.modbury-preschool.org.uk/schools-out-at-modbury )also operates from the Pre-school, offering wrap-around care including Breakfast Club, After School Club and Holiday Club for 3-11 year olds. Children from all over the South Hams attend the Holiday Club and it’s a great way to meet new friends.  Holiday club takes place every school holiday( except for Christmas). It runs from 8.30 am - 4.30 pm and children from all over the South Hams attend. Again the children have the same open spaces as our preschool but different resources, games and activities provided are age appropriate.

The premises were refurbished and the furniture designed to support open-ended play in calm, protected areas. All the staff are qualified with years of childcare experience and we are an Ofsted regulated setting.
